So let me start by just saying today was not a good day at all! But rather than rant on and on about how horribly bad it was I want to discuss what makes me happy.
What makes me happy may seem like obvious things that would make anyone happy. The main thing that brings happiness to my life are my kids. My oldest daughter, E, is the most stubborn little girl ever! But it's only because she is exactly like me. She is sweet and caring and loving. She loves to help out in anyway. I look at her and I still see the little baby I dressed in a pink and white dress when we came home after giving birth to her. That little dress still hangs in her closet. Then there is my little buddy, A, who is growing up way to fast. He is such a smart boy. He loves basketball. He could name at least 5 players from his favorite NBA team. He is just so bright and very, very active! I get tired just watching him run around sometimes! And finally there's my little baby, B. She is just a little bundle of joy, always smiling and laughing! She's my little daredevil! Nothing can slow her down. Yet she is the sweetest little baby ever. She loves giving kisses and hugs. Her best friend is our fat, fluffy cat named April. She is just a little animal lover.
What else makes me happy? My hubby, of course! Can't forget about him. No matter how down I tend to get he is always there to pick me right back up and just say that everything is going to be ok. And he is always right. He has been through everything with me. The highs and lows, the good and the bad. We have made it through everything together. He is the best father to our kids that I could ever ask for. He is my best friend. He just makes me a better me.
There are some little weird things that put a smile on my face. They remind me that I am unique and special in my own little way. Now, to the other little joys in my life. I love the smell of new books. I love buying books for the kids to read to them and the scent reminds me of them. I love colorful pens. And when I get bored and having nothing to write about I will write my own name over and over in every color. My favorite are those InkJoy pens. I love colorful highlighters. I love how bright and vibrant the colors can be. I love Post-it notes in every color I can find. I think this is why I want to teach. The weeks leading up to the beginning of the new school year make me happy. I enjoy seeing all the notebooks and folders. School supply shopping is the best shopping I can do all year. I know, I'm a big nerd!
And finally, I love cupcakes! Cupcakes of all flavors and fillings. I love buttercream icing. My icing is the best! I avoid it whenever I'm baking. If not I could probably eat the whole tub then regret it later!
Those are my little things in life that bring such joy and happiness. Those are just my little reminders that I need to think about and realize that I may have a bad day. But it is only one day. There is still so much good all around me. Now you know my little things of happiness. What are some things that bring you joy or put a smile on your face?
