Today is another Wine Down Wednesday. What better way to wind down than sitting outside on the front porch with the warm Spring breeze blowing the pages of my notebook while writing with my pretty baby blue Inkjoy pen. I love these pens! No wine in hand just yet. Today I want to discuss one way you can have a mid-day wind down. As a stay-at-home mom to an 18 month old, winding down in the middle of the day isn't always possible. But when it is, I jump on it!
Baby B takes two naps a day. A short one after running the kids to school and breakfast. The second nap around two in the afternoon before after school pick-up. Usually during those naps I try to get some cleaning done, a load of laundry thrown in the washer or fold and put away a load (of laundry). On those rare days when everything is done. There is no cleaning to do or no stacks of dishes to get to. I think to myself, 'Oh, the possibilities!' I could sit on the couch and make a little more progress on my book or catch up on some shows. Today I chose to sit outside on this beautiful day and write. I chose to write out today's post. But you can grab any notebook and pen, and get to writing. I have one notebook for my blog post and another as my personal journal. I love finding new journals and notebooks while shopping. If I find them on sale that's even better. I really enjoy finding a good sale.
You may think what in the world would you write about. Simple, ANYTHING! Write about the first thing that pops into you head. If you're having a bad day, write about it. There have been many days when it felt like it was just going all downhill. So putting it on paper takes all those bad thoughts out of your mind. Just by writing about it, it can turn your entire mood around. Now if you're having a good day, write about that too. Write down that good moment and later when you are having a not-so-good day, come back and read it and just smile.
You can write about anything. A while back I found a few of my old journals from when I was younger. I found one from my elementary years and one from my middle school years. I have alway loved to write. I would write about my day, little poems about everything. I still love to write! Another goal of mine is to publish a book someday. I don't know what it would be about. But I do know I would love to be a published author.
